The Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG – DR) Program is responsible for ensuring decent, affordable housing opportunities, provision of services, assistance to the most vulnerable in our communities, and the expansion and conservation of jobs. The Department of Housing of Puerto Rico (PRDOH) has been designated as the entity responsible for administering this grant that will help recover from disasters caused by hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017; this includes long-term recovery, restoration of housing, economic infrastructure, and revitalization. This will be implemented under the Tourism and Business Marketing Program (TBMP).
The TBMP will undertake promotional activities outside the island to attract visitors and businesses, bring external capital that can contribute to Puerto Rico’s economy, encourage external investments, promote economic development, and create new jobs, allowing the island to re-emerge as a highly competitive destination in the Caribbean.
