The island’s business attraction organization won three prestigious IEDC awards and announced the next phase of its flagship campaign.

San Juan, Puerto Rico – Invest Puerto Rico (InvestPR), the organization responsible for promoting Puerto Rico as a world-class investment destination, was recognized with three accolades at the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) Excellence in Economic Development Awards 2025. This recognition adds to the awards obtained in 2022 and 2023, reinforcing a sustained track record of excellence and innovation in investment attraction strategies.

In its 2025 edition, InvestPR was awarded with:

These awards highlight the effectiveness, creativity, and strategic reach of the marketing platform that positions Puerto Rico as the place where innovation, talent, and opportunity converge. They also reaffirm the impact of an integrated strategy that has captured the attention of key audiences and generated greater interest in the island as an investment destination.

“We are proud that our promotion initiatives have been recognized among hundreds of global submissions. These awards validate our commitment to a narrative that captures attention and mobilizes real investment interest toward the island,” said Ella Woger-Nieves, Chief Executive Officer of InvestPR. “Our integrated focus on content, technology, and data has allowed us to raise Puerto Rico’s visibility as a serious and differentiated option for doing business.”

For his part, Nathan Ohle, President and Chief Executive Officer of IEDC, shared: “Invest Puerto Rico is setting the standard in economic development with its most recent initiatives. This recognition highlights a strong commitment to its community and underscores the significant impact of its work in this field. It is an honor to grant this award in celebration of its leadership and innovation in the field of economic development.”

With these new recognitions, InvestPR has now accumulated a total of eight international IEDC awards since 2022, an achievement that reflects consistency, innovation, and leadership in economic development. These accolades validate its work’s impact and global reach and highlight how its investment attraction strategies have elevated Puerto Rico onto the world’s most competitive stages.

The evolution of “It’s not what’s next, it’s where”

In parallel with this international recognition, InvestPR is preparing to launch the second phase of its award-winning campaign, continuing the success of earlier initiatives such as Game-Changers and Accelerate Success, and strengthening the narrative of Puerto Rico as a comprehensive investment destination.

This new stage of “It’s not what’s next, it’s where” will focus particularly on advanced manufacturing, logistics, and specialized talent—sectors where Puerto Rico offers world-class competitive advantages. It will also include executions in CTV (connected television), expanding its reach to strategic audiences on digital and connected TV platforms. This innovation further strengthens InvestPR’s multichannel approach and adapts its message to current content consumption habits.

The first phase of the campaign succeeded in increasing awareness of the island as an ideal business destination with 103.4 million impressions and increases of 13% in familiarity with Puerto Rico, 7.8% in the perception of “strategic geographic location”, and 8% in the number of professionals considering Puerto Rico for their companies. Efforts resulted in 2.9 million visits to the campaign website.

“Robust and continuous promotion is essential to elevate Puerto Rico’s brand as a competitive business destination in the United States and international markets. This campaign is strategically designed to build awareness, improve perceptions of the island, and highlight our differentiating assets on a large scale,” added Nicole Vilalte, Chief Marketing Officer of InvestPR.

The IEDC Awards celebrate the most significant achievements in economic development worldwide. With more than 4,300 members across 25 countries, IEDC is one of the largest professional organizations in the field.
